Hurricane Omar
Posted on Oct 16th, 2008

By 4:30 AM, Hurricane Omar left the island to continue it\'s Northeast path out past St Martin and out into the Atlantic. According to the National Hurricane Center, the winds on St Croix reached 62 MPH and up to 75 MPH on St Thomas and dropped over 6 inches of rain.  Charlie Fischer did an initial assessment and notes no condo damage but the the trees and shrubs in Sweet Lime Village as well as Carambola Golf Course took quite a beating.  Clean up will begin shortly. We were extremely lucky this time but the rather short notice of this hurricane really tested our Manager\'s ability to respond in a timely fashion. Thanks to John Wessel for the additional help to "button up" our community prior to the storms arrival.
